Dans le cadre des festivités de son 80ème anniversaire, Marvel fera revenir sa toute première série Star Wars, annulée en 1986 au #107, le temps d’un numéro spécial.

Star Wars #108, qui revisitera la continuité du premier Univers Etendu de la Saga des Etoiles, est écrit par Matthew Rosenberg (Uncanny X-Men) et dessiné notamment par Giuseppe Camuncoli, Luke Ross, Kerry Gammill et Andrea Broccardo.

La présentation officielle annonce des personnages comme Jaxxon (le fameux “lapin vert” contrebandier), Domina Tagge et Valance le chasseur. La couverture principale est signée Walter Simonson (co-auteur d’un run historique entre 1978 et 1982).
