As usual : fights, monsters, friends, super attacks, new characters, big lunchs, in fact a typical Toriko volume ! Remember, at the end of the 15th volume, Toriko, Komatsu and Zebra were in the Gourmet Pyramid in the Sand Forest... Komatsu was apart, alone, with a sarcophagus behind him... Then the sarcophagus opened and a furry non-human hand caught its side as if something - or somebody - tried to rely on it to get out the sarcophagus... It was long to wait the 16th volume to know what - or who - was in the sarcophagus, friend or enemy ?, and which link may exist between this creature and the Mellow Cola that the heroes are looking for. One more time, Mitsutoshi SHIMABUKURO draws epic fightings mixed with humorous moments, where individuality has to give way to a cooperative team of fighters supported by a known chief. Toriko and Zebra have to deal with two main enemies in this volume, and Komatsu has to face important decisions and promises. The ultimate food GOD is again at the center of all discussions, and it looks like the Gourmet Corp is again involved in a dangerous plan to find it, helped by ferocious partners. Toriko's gourmet adventure is rising up again, the association with Zebra gives a punch to the story and let us imagine more dangerous situations and bigger monsters to come. This 16th volume starts in a hurry, and finishes with the announcement of a new fantastic adventure in relation with Acacia, the lengedary Gourmet Hunter !
