Hi, I’m Darin Shuler.
My favorite thing is drawing. I’ve written and illustrated two Dog & Hat early reader graphic novels for kids. My newest book, Dog & Hat and the Lunar Eclipse Picnic, is out now! Ask for it at your favorite bookstore or order a signed copy from my web shop! I’ve been self-publishing comics and zines, including the Xeric Award-winning series Castle & Wood, since the early aughts. One of my dreams is to self publish a comics magazine for kids called EVERYBODY.
I received a bachelor’s degree with a focus in illustration from The Evergreen State College in 2005. I’ve been a member of the SCBWI since 2014.
I have lead drawing and comics workshops for kids all around the world (web info on workshops coming soon).
I live in Bothell, Washington with my partner, two daughters, mother in law, and some cats.
