Biographie de son site :

Lilli Carré is an interdisciplinary artist working in a wide range of media, including experimental animation, print, and ceramic sculpture. Recent works focus on limits, mutations and perceived misbehaviors. She is particularly interested in the open-ended possibilities and histories of the animated body – simultaneously extremely physical and virtual, free of expectations or fixed form.

Lilli’s films have screened in festivals worldwide, including the Sundance Film Festival, IFFR, Annecy, 25FPS, the European Media Arts Festival, The New Chitose Festival, Guanajuato Intl. Film Festival, and the Ann Arbor Film Festival. She is the Co-Director of the Eyeworks Festival of Experimental Animation, held annually in LA, Chicago, and NY since 2010.

She has created work for The New Yorker, The New York Times, the LA Philharmonic, The Poetry Foundation, and Best American Comics, and published several graphic novels with Fantagraphics. Solo exhibitions of her drawing, animation, and sculpture have shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Western Exhibitions, and the Columbus Museum of Art. She has been an artist-in-residence fellow at MacDowell, Yaddo, and Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.

She is based in Los Angeles and currently teaches in the Experimental Animation program at CalArts.
