Vlad the Impaler, Dracula, was a man who was feared in Europe. He belived himself invincible, and so needed to be knocked down a notch. Apocalypses forces during the Crusades decimated Vlad's army and aimed to kill him.

In the present day, Ozymandias prepares for Apocalypse's return to save mutantkind through survival of the fittest. He recounts the events of 1897 when a string of deaths involving puncture wounds to the neck have been plaguing London. All of the murders have been from people with Apocalypse's blood, it is decided by Clan Akkaba's inner circle that they must wake Apocalypse from his slumber to destroy the menace that threatens their cult.
