Mekanix 1 - Targets Issues (2002 - 2003)

Kitty Pryde is an astrophysics student at the University of Chicago, on leave from the X-Men in order to persue her education. Her life is as normal as a former X-Person's can get, she has a job as a bartender, a home off campus and a full scholarship to the University. But then a mutant hate group targets her class and her life is turned upside down. She attempts to relate her fears to Karma, but has a hard time adjusting.

Meanwhile, across town, Shola Inkosi has premonitions of something terrible coming and PURITY is attempting to find a way to expose someone on campus as a mutant. The next day, the astrophysics class is put in danger when an experiment, presumably tempered with by PURITY, explodes.
